adminIf you are on the northwest side of Houston, check out our friends at Bayou City Fellowship! They are doing beautiful things. #Repost @robbieseay・・・Houston, if you need help go to www.BayouCityRelief.com. We won't stop once the news goes away. Help us spread the word!
adminOne of the coolest aspects of this whole thing is getting to work alongside so many different communities. It's all hand on deck regardless of anything that could divide us. We pray this is the new normal. John 17:20-23Today, we have the privilege of serving with Sharpstown High School!#SHS_cares #projectstarfish #loveyourneighbor #wegonmakeit
adminY'all, let's take a break from sheetrock, carpet, waterlogged furniture to give thanks to God. His steadfast love endures even through a hurricane. Tonight at 7pm we will gather at the Catholic Charismatic Center with @robbieseayband and our Houston family for #adorecentralhouston. We hope you can join us.
adminThere are just no words to adequately thank all of you who have given of your time, energy, talents, and treasure to love on our neighbors in Houston and southeast Texas. Whether you have waded through waters to tear out sheetrock, driven in from out of state with supplies, donated $5000 or $10 to relief efforts, we are honored to mission alongside you. "Many Parts, One Body" has never rung truer. We are all called to love God and neighbor, but not all in the same way. Everyone is doing their part so that the world may know we are one body in Christ. A few updates:1 – Our new fall worship series entitled "Recalculating" at Adore Central Houston will still begin tomorrow, September 6 at the Catholic Charismatic Center and Adore North Houston is still on for September 13. Now more than ever do we need to stay connected to the Vine and give praise to our generous and loving Father.2 – Encounter Houston Steubenville Young Adult Conference is also still a go! We have seen this past week that fear and anxiety have nothing on hope and joy. God is alive and actively working in the hearts of individuals here in Houston and across the country. This is a perfect opportunity to gather and rejoice in His goodness as a community. We are working on ways that Encounter Houston participants can get actively involved in relief efforts while they are in town. Stay tuned for more details. If you have registered, but have been affected by Hurricane Harvey, please email firstname.lastname@example.org – Today is Day #7 of Harvey Relief Efforts/Project Starfish. Our missionaries, volunteers, and greater community have been in over 100 homes and many more apartments all over the Houston area. While this number seems large, it doesn't even make a dent in the work that needs to be done across southeast Texas. Thankfully, God is not calling us to fix the situation. He is not calling us to be 100% "efficient." He isn't even calling us to be successful. He is simply asking us to be faithful and love with all that we have. How fitting is it that today we celebrate a saint who knew and practiced this mission of faith and love so well!St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
adminWe are stronger together so we are teaming up with @thepinescatholiccamp in relief efforts. Check out www.pines.com/harvey for how you can help in the DFW/Tyler area.#Repost @thepinescatholiccamp・・・We're teaming up with @adoreministries to assist in the Houston relief efforts. adminHurricane Harvey has done a number on our beloved city and state. We, like you, are restless to get to work helping our neighbors recover. Right now, we don't know exactly what is needed and when we will be able to start as rain is still falling and may continue for a while. If you are able to help, give us your contact information via the link in our profile, and we will reach out when we have a firm plan of action. You can also make a tax-deductible donation designated to purchase supplies for flood relief and support our neighbors in need via adoreministries.com/support.For now, join us in praying for everyone affected.
adminWe love partnering with @mitscoots! If you've ever bought their socks from us, you are not only supporting our missions, but this one too. We are pumped to see how they are continuing to build up the kingdom in their 10 foot radius.
adminThis summer was simple. This summer was abundant. We had everything from eating with no hands, lots of soccer, prayer, youth group, steubenville, and just sharing in ordinary life together. Most days weren't huge. They were simple, and consisted of just hanging out on the sidelines of the soccer field. I remember feeling frustrated during soccer and thinking I wasn't doing enough as I sat and tried to strike up conversations. These conversations were short and sometimes a little awkward, and I struggled to see see how this could be ministry. Yet there was something special in seeing someone almost every day and just sharing in life together. In kicking a soccer ball around, in hearing about their siblings, eating raspas, and creating random handshakes, we formed friendships. Most days were small, most days were simple, yet the relationships formed were special. This summer I've found that consistency matters. Consistency matters in our own lives and in the lives of others. Consistency matters in prayer. The Father's love is constant. Let us also be constant. #lifeofjoy
