Jonathan & Sara Alexander

Missionaries/Vice President of Missions
With 11 years of youth ministry experience, Franciscan University alum Jonathan Alexander is now the Vice President of Missions for Adore Ministries, serving the under served of Houston and nearby communities. His wife Sara is using her license in counseling to provide support and healing in these communities as well.  Together, with their three kids (Bernadette, Gianna, and Ezekiel), this missionary family hopes to share the Gospel with every person they run across, no matter their economic status.

Manny and Brittany Barraza

Missionaries

Manny, originally from Dallas and Brittany, a Southern California native have been serving with Adore since 2013. Manny sought a life in ministry from the beginning of his collegiate career at Franciscan University, while Brittany had dreams of a life on the beach in California. Somehow, God brought all their dreams together in a call to serve the underserved as Adore missionaries in Houston. Manny works in an underserved neighborhood in Houston’s North Richmond, and Brittany is in Denver Harbor/5th Ward area of the inner city. In their mission sites as well as in their growing new family (baby girl due December 2016!), Manny and Brittany seek to encounter Christ in the streets, on the margins, and in their neighbors with each new day God gives.

Emily Blasdell

Missionary/Vice President of Operations
Since high school, Emily had felt a call to ministry, but while in college discovered her passion for serving in an administrative role. She became committed to Adore’s mission after a summer internship in 2012. Just a few days after graduating with a degree in Communication from St. Edward’s University that next year, Emily jumped on board in Adore’s Houston office to serve the mission in development, marketing, and now, overall operations. Some of Emily’s biggest joys in life are being an aunt, making connections, and organizing closets.

Chris and Erika Donatto

Missionaries
Chris and Erika Donatto are two Lord of the Rings nerds who fell in love 11 years ago and never looked back. Only by clinging to their Catholic faith and its Sacraments have they managed to grow more in love, bring two beautiful daughters (Elanor and Adeline) into the world, and accept God’s calling to become Adore missionaries. They love people. Plain and simple. As individuals, as a couple, and as a family they have always felt called to practice unfettered love, for only through it can we find the heart of Jesus. Chris has a degree in Theology from the University of St. Thomas and over 7 years of experience in Youth Ministry. He loves trying new beers with Erika, powerlifting, comic books, and climbing trees with his little ladies. Erika converted to Catholicism in her senior year at Houston Baptist University. She is a lover of music, the written word, Texas, and queso. She also has a passion for empowering and inspiring women, which is her mission as a personal stylist for Stella & Dot. Together, Chris and Erika hope to find and share deep joy, peace, and humility in surrendering to God’s plan for their lives.

Ryan Efaw

Missionary
Growing up in Cypress, TX, Ryan has grown to love the great outdoors and the greatest God that we serve! He went through nursing school at Texas A&M where he served as an intern at St. Mary’s Catholic Center in campus ministry and was inflamed with a Franciscan passion to rebuild the church and renew humanity and the face of the Earth in accord with God’s plan.

Mathew “Hawk” Hawkins

Missionary
Matt “Hawk” Hawkins hails from Atlanta, Georgia where he worked as an Emmy Award Winning producer for GCPS TV. He has also worked on feature length films including Disney Channel’s Cloud 9. Though he has been blessed with many opportunities, his heart is has always been drawn to love the unloved. He has worked in youth ministry for 9 years, and loves to connect with those who feel like they don’t belong. Hawk is very excited and honored to join Adore in Houston serving the good people of Denver Harbor/Fifth Ward.

Ennie & Cana Hickman

Missionaries/President
With a heart for the marginalized and the forgotten, missionaries Ennie and Cana Hickman have traveled the country and abroad sharing the love of Christ with the Churched and Unchurched for over 15 years. Andie Ingram

Office Assistant/Bookkeeper
Andrea “Andie” was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Andie graduated in 2014 with her Bachelor¹s degree in Politics from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.. Her ministry work started when she was in high school volunteering as a middle school team leader and a 1st grade religious education teacher at her home parish St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Her current mission is in Houston serving Adore’s missionary team and staff as their Bookkeeper and Office Assistant. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, going on walks with her two giant dogs and volunteering with the high school youth program at her church.

Lauren Koath

Missionary
Lauren, originally from North Texas, attended Franciscan University where she graduated in 2013 with degrees in Theology and Catechetics. She has a heart for sharing the joy of the Gospel with the young Church and has been involved in youth ministry for several years in both Texas and Ohio. She is a hockey lover, a coffee enthusiast, and because of Christ finds herself living a life greater than she could have ever imagined. Lauren is excited for the opportunity to join the Adore family and serve the people of Houston.

Charlie and Andrea Mercer

Missionary/VP of Mission Development
Charlie and Andrea Mercer have had a heart for mission and evangelization that has led them all over the country to bring the saving news of Christ and experience first hand God’s Spirit moving in the hearts of young people and college students. With the unique opportunity to serve in a brand new mission field at Lone Star College, they look forward to the great many ways God will show his Glory to the students in North Houston.

Cassie Noeker

Missionary

Cassie is a small farm town (actually a village) girl from Michigan with a heart for big cities. She danced for 18 years, one of which was done at the collegiate level. However, she admits if you ask her to bust a move, it will be the most awkward thing you will ever witness. She loves being on the beach or by the water, and anything that takes place outside has her vote. Cassie used to want to be an astronomer spending hours staring at the night sky, stargazing and getting lost in the Lord’s breathtaking creation. She has an unnatural obsession with touring Europe/Paris and going hiking, neither of which she has ever actually done before. She plans to go backpacking across Europe someday, therefore fulfilling both afore mentioned dreams. However, her desire to serve the Lord and bring His hope to the hopeless has brought her to Houston, where it is her goal to help fulfill His holy will for this city.

Matt and Stephanie Regitz

Missionary
Matt and Stephanie Regitz have been married since Saint Patrick’s Day of 2001 and double as parents and ministers at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Both graduated from Texas A&M University. Matt worked as a salesman for 5 years in the oilfield before answering a call to trade in his company car for the new and crazy life as a youth minister at his childhood parish. Stephanie was an elementary school teacher before bringing her gifts home to their houseful of kids as a full time mom. Matt completed a Masters in Theological Studies from the University of St. Thomas in 2009 and has worked as the youth minister at Prince of Peace alongside his brother, Dave Regitz, for the past 12 years. Stephanie started St. Gianna’s Hope Ministry to serve moms who have suffered a miscarriage or infant loss. They have been blessed with 5 children, Athan, Becket, Anna Tess, Kieran, and their oldest daughter, Mary Clare, who is in heaven. They also have two precious boys that they miscarried. Their own story of grief and recovery has radically changed the way they view their own roles as ministers and parents. They hope their passionate journey of faith will remind this generation that Jesus loves us to death…and beyond!
