Youth and Young Adult Outreach in the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th wards, as well as areas in Richmond, TX
Apostolic and missionary fruitfulness is not principally due to programs and pastoral methods that are cleverly drawn up and “efficient”, but is the result of the community’s constant prayer (cf. “Evangelii Nuntiandi,” 75). Moreover, for the mission to be effective, communities must be united, that is, they must be “of one heart and soul” (cf. Acts 4:32), and they must be ready to witness to the love and joy that the Holy Spirit instills in the hearts of the faithful (cf. Acts 4:32).” - Pope Benedict XVI, Papal Message for World Youth Day ’08, July 24, 2007
Adore Ministries wishes to fully live this out within their communities, especially those that are easily overlooked or forgotten. There are many situations within our reach that are desperately in need of hope, and as the situations and gaps present themselves to us, we must ask ourselves: how are we willing to serve?
In one of the largest cities in our country, we hope to transform families and create a long lasting culture of faith that is centered on Jesus Christ. Our hope is to walk with young people in areas of need, in order to catechize and disciple in the most effective way for that particular community. Though the model make look differently for different communities, the catechetical component and discipleship models are fundamentally the same, oriented toward making disciples of all nations.
We are currently partnering with Cristo Rey Jesuit and the Catholic Charismatic Center in the inner city Houston.
In Richmond, Texas, we are offering a once a week ministry for middle school youth, as well as providing music for their liturgy.
We are also currently looking for more places to serve. If you are interested, please contact Jonathan
