Every semester Adore Ministries hosts a worship series that takes place at various locations. Teachings from these nights are recorded and available to download for free. What are the characteristics of a great talk or speech? A cool story? Great inflection by the presenter? Passionate loud speech? Or something else?
The Sermon on the Mount has often been called the greatest sermon ever preached. But what makes it so? Was it a cool story? A funny illustration? Or was it the content and authority of the preacher?
Occupying three chapters in Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus lays out the fundamental teaching of what it means to be a true follower.
Join us this semester as we take a walk through the entire Sermon. Enter in with us as we become more than
“hearers of this Word” and become “doers also”.
It’s more than just a Good Talk.
“His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness.” II Peter 1:3a
Imagine yourself at the end of your life. Family and friends have gathered, knowing that these are your final days. You want to leave them with something important, something that expresses the most important truths that you’ve learned over the course of your life. So you decide to sit down and write a letter…
What would it say?
In the second Epistle of Saint Peter, he sets out to do exactly that. Peter is imprisoned, facing certain death, and the letter he writes contains what he can only assume are the last words to the brothers.
“Instead of seeming to impose new obligations, Christians should appear as people who wish to share their joy, who point to a horizon of beauty and who invite others to a delicious banquet.” Evangelii Gaudium 15
What is Evangelization? How do I share the Good News of Christ with my peers? Chances are, if you are like most of us, even spelling the word Evangelization can be a challenge, much less participating in it.
For many years now a movement has been stirring in the Church; a movement of beauty and truth, that is attractive, and DELICIOUS. Even though the New Evangelization has been stirring for decades, it’s Pope Francis’ words in the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, that are giving it new vigor. Come and be inspired to make the New Evangelization a part of your daily walk.
