Adore’s presence in the Commonwealth of Virginia falls in line with the Diocese of Richmond’s ongoing pastoral plan for the New Evangelization and primarily resides in the Virginia Beach/South Hampton Roads area.  Adore missionaries serve in various roles at the Church of the Ascension (Virginia Beach), most directly by leading their parish New Evangelization team with the goal of encouraging all parish ministries and efforts to meet the call of the new evangelization by introducing real people to a real encounter with the real person of Jesus Christ.  Adore missionaries serve in parish adult faith formation planning and programming, as well as parish baptism programming, all as a means to “tell this great story of God’s personal love and personal relationship” (Joy of the Gospel).  Adore missionaries serve in an area-wide (South Hampton Roads regional) ladies group that meets to support, encourage, and build up young adult women, wives, and mothers in their day-to-day pursuit of holiness through individual vocations and interactions.

Adore acts as a resource to the Richmond diocese’s Office of Evangelization in trying to cultivate a culture where laity see themselves as “missionary disciples” in bringing the joy of the gospel through natural relationship to those within their immediate circle of influence.
