THE VISION: 
​A Modern Missionary Disciple

God calls each and every one of us to mission, and we want to create opportunities for people to serve and join us in mission that are not able to be full-time missionaries.

Part-time missionaries could be college students, stay at home parents, or someone that has a more traditional job and still feels like God is calling them to mission in a greater capacity.

Becoming a part-time missionary with Adore is the perfect opportunity to enter into missional life and community of Adore whole also serving the underserved youth and communities of Houston. You are invited to be present at staff formations, have direct accompaniment with a supervisor and team, and flexibility to work around your already established work or home schedule.

JOB SUMMARY

The part-time missionary is responsible for evangelizing & discipling middle and high school teens within a Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. You will work a flexible schedule of 10-15 hours a week. You will serve alongside a missionary team to fulfill the vision in forming teens in the parish mission.


No one is left to serve on their own. You are given a stipend and required to build a support team for financial stability and for the support of the mission, with the freedom to increase your support team when financially prudent. The foundation of all of this is prayer. You are asked to spend 30 minutes in prayer each day.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Works well in a team
  • Must support raise a salary- monthly financial support varies depending on the individual, couple’s, or family’s needs and amount raised
  • Attention to detail is critical to mission success
  • Bonus: Bi-lingual – not necessary but appreciated

LOCATION & DURATION

  • Based in Houston & surrounding areas
  • Minimum 1 year
  • Vacation days, sick days, personal retreats, generous vacation time for Thanksgiving, Christmas, & Holy Week
